My Approach
My approach is to consider each client as an individual and establish therapeutic goals that are relevant to how the client wishes to progress.
I predominately work with the 'here and now', I will think holistically and also consider historical events when assessing the best way forward for a client. I also work at a deeper level looking at schemas and coping modes when working with more complex clients.

My foundations lie in the Person-Centred Approach and the therapeutic relationship is of paramount importance, I also believe in the client being the expert in knowing what they want to achieve.
If I am counselling my role is to help the client explore and unpick their problem and help them to work out their own solutions. Counselling sessions are 50 mins and often open ended depending on the client and their personal progress.
I also implement and work from a motivational interviewing stance (the foundations of which lie in the person-centred approach). In this way the client is still the expert and I facilite guidance towards the client led goals.
If a more direct approach is needed I utilise a CBT style intervention that's focus is on the client's presenting problem and their personal goals. My approach when coaching with CBT is to utilize a framework that's more specific for the clients problem, based on cognitive re-constructing and cognitive/behavioural techniques.
The CBT sessions are based around 6-8 sessions and target driven by what the client wishes to achieve on assessment and tailored around their problem or the support they require.
Emotional Resilience has been shown to increase a person's ability to cope with challenging situations and helps clients to be more self-aware and less reactive. Clinical supervision follows a recognised clinical framework that follows a reflective cycle. My role is to facilitate the supervision, set boundaries and maintain confidentiality, help exploration of feelings and manage time keeping.
Both counselling and CBT interventions can be delivered via online platform Zoom (please contact for further information)
